Pangani is a historic town on the mainland of Tanzania’s coastline. It goes back as far as the late 18th century where it served as a trading port most well-known for its role it played in the slave trade, evidence of this can still be seen when taking a cultural tour though the old town ruins. A short drive away located on a long palm tree dotted beach is Emayani Beach Lodge. A favourite place to take in the coastal life, read a book and let life slow to a pace rarely experienced in today’s busy world.

A popular activity enjoyed by guests, is to take a short boat ride across to the sand islands to swim snorkel, dive and witness the flourishing protected tropical reefs. Be sure to check in with the turtle project down the beach from the lodge to see if there might be a turtle hatching happening during your visit.

The Zanzibar and Pemba archipelago are located off the Tanzanian mainland and are well known for their pristine sandy beaches, clear waters, rich culture and history.
